Insanity Max:30 Day 12, 13 & 14

Day 12:

Friday Fight Round 1

Camping caused me to skip this workout. Don’t worry though, I did one that kicked my butt and fed the mosquitoes because I got bit smack dab on the middle of my butt cheek.

I don’t condone skipping workouts BUT sometimes you have to work with what you have and move forward. I know that doubling up workouts is hard for me so instead of dwelling on it I’m going to keep truckin on!

I highly recommend this plyo box workout if you’re looking for a good push. The side plank raises has me sore! I definitely need to focus on some oblique work a little more often. Don’t have a box? I used a picnic table, if there’s a will, there’s a way!

After working out and getting snacked on, I hit the shower, then the beaches with my family. My boy, Damien, is such a dare devil!

Day 13

Rest Day!

We spent the day in worship and soaked up some beautiful ocean views. We even got to see a couple whales. Nothing more exciting than spotting a whale spout in the distance, well I guess seeing it next to you could be better, but we had a great day anyway.

My meal plan wasn’t perfect but I ate clean until these came out… ❤ ❤ ❤

Day 14

Pulse

Since Pulse is optional, I took today as an extra rest day. I’m not sure what is going on but my head has been throbbing for days. I hate taking medicine but Ibuprofen has been my best friend. Since we were go go go, I decided to hydrate and rest up.

While I don’t particularly enjoy seeing my last two workouts of the week as “incomplete,” I’m giving myself a break and continuing on with tomorrow as a new day. Week 3 will be spent at home and spent kicking my own bootay!

Insanity Max:30 Day 11

Day 11:

Tabata Power

Ugh… I’ve got to give all you Mom’s with babies and toddlers props! I was getting my sweat on and around minute 12 I hear a blood curdling scream… James and Damien were playing and James some how got his fingers smashed in the sliding glass door. No blood, no broken bones, so I continued. I maxed out around 19:40, but I feel like I cheated due to the unforeseen break. So next week I’m not counting that as my to beat time.

My workout time is MY time. I use it to get rid of frustration, to get rid of junk food guilt, to just breath. That pause sort of put the rest of my sweat sesh in a funk. I already felt a little off because I’m modifying for a few days due to my knee being sore. I’m just glad I pushed play and got it done. Now that that’s off my chest…

Weighted vests are AWESOME! Push ups were more intense, tricep dips were more intense. But, core was where I lost the battle today! I took the vest off because it was awkward laying on the ground with it, but I laid it on my chest so there was extra resistance. Good stuff! Best part about using the weighted vest, I know that when I don’t use it, I will feel even stronger. My vest isn’t super heavy, it doesn’t need to be. Just needs to be more than you’re used to.

#IMaxedOut @19:40 (all leg work modified)

Insanity Max:30 Day 9 & 10

Day 9:

Tabata Power

I’ve already completed Tabata Power twice. The first time I maxed out at 9:42, the second 10:40. Today was a struggle to even press play. Between crappy eating habits this weekend and Aunt Flo arriving early, I just had no energy. It put my head in a bad state of mind. My head hurt and I just didn’t wanna! Working out is non-negotiable for me so I decided to chug down some E&E and just do it. Never have I been more grateful for those 10 second breaks. If it would have been the Cardio Challenge today I probably would have maxed out during the warm up. I didn’t let this funk bring me down though.

I kept telling myself to do it, to keep going. I passed minute 11 and was like I’ve got this. I can keep going. I passed minute 12 and was like whoa, this is crazy, minute 13, I was half dead. Then at 13:47 #IMaxedOut and was a little light headed. My mindset is a big weakness but at the same time my mindset is my biggest drive. Sometimes I push myself so hard that I end up pushing through the pain and hurt myself. That’s how I ended up with a knee injury last year but I think I’ve learned a little from that experience. I know that pushing myself makes me stronger but I legit felt like I was going to throw up after today. I had to sit down and drink some water. I’m proud though, I beat my last time by 3 minutes and 7 seconds!

You are the only thing holding yourself back! So quit and push play! I promise you won’t regret your new adventure. ❤

Day 10:

Sweat Intervals

My time to be beat 9:38, I woke up with a little more energy today than yesterday. I can beat it!

I can’t help but wonder, did I not use my calves for anything before Max:30? Or does Shaun T just love to make them burn? Glad they aren’t sore like they were last week but just getting the warm up done, they were on fire! I was able to push through to 11:16 but wow, I got whooped.

Nutrition:

Breakfast: Whole grain toast with coconut oil and almond butter.

Snack: Vanilla Protein Shake

Lunch: Brown rice with tofu, peas and left over lentil sauce. I don’t know about you but I cannot get enough peas in my life. I think it’s a toss up between them and broccoli as my favorite vegetable.

Snack: Celery and hummus, Vegan Chocolate Shakeology with 1/2 banana.

Dinner: Yet to be determined.

Water:

My goal of water is 128 ounces a day. Yesterday I drank water but I think I over did it on the coffee. I’m at 104 ounces at 2:24 pm, I’m well on schedule to meet my goal. Making sure you get enough water is super important. It helps me to log my water on my fit bit app. If I don’t log it, I tend to forget what my goal is. I’ll be carrying my water bottle around with me for the rest of the day to make sure I get it done!

Insanity Max:30 Day 8

Day 8:

Happy Monday! My main focus this week is to get my food choices back on track. It will be a little tough because I know that I’m going camping this weekend. Best part about that though is I prep everything before we go, so as long as my family doesn’t bring too many tasty temptations I should be okay! Don’t be shocked if I have a s’more though.

I always say that working out is the best with a buddy, that being said, my dude Damien did Max:30 with me today. I think he maxed out at :55 but he’s insisting it was after 7 minutes. He thought he was actually done working out because he maxed out, ha ha! What does he think I do in here for half an hour? #IMaxedOut at 8:34 today, one second short of a minute longer than last week. I think listening to him complaining about working out dragged me down a bit. He kept saying he didn’t know how I could do this. It was so hard. But he kept doing his best. I recommend finding a workout buddy that challenges you. Try to find someone who does well at what you’re weak at and vice versa. Sometimes you get what you get though 😉

Meal Plan:

Breakfast: Oatmeal with chia seeds, shredded coconut and walnuts.

Snack: Vanilla protein shake.

Lunch: Romaine salad with sprouts, red peppers, green onion, 1 cup black beans(14 G protein) guacamole and salsa.

Snack: Vegan Tropical Strawberry Shakeology with half a banana.

Dinner: My family is eating pancakes and that is not on my plan! I had broccoli with a lentil sauce and a slice of seeded bread.

I’m proud of myself for hitting 82 grams of protein today! I had to be resourceful and think outside the box but I got it done. Not too shabby for eating Vegan ❤️
