Let the pain begin!
I kick off my 2nd round of Max:30 tomorrow. What better way to celebrate turning 33 😱😱😱 I can’t say that this is my favorite program but it does have a special place in my heart. It taught me that the only person I need to compete with on my fitness journey is myself. Being in the health industry it’s hard not to compare yourself to others. Especially when you’re involved with Spartan Race and EVERYONE who is a Spartan is amazing! You better believe it challenged me. Pushing myself to keep going longer than the last time was a huge accomplishment.
Insanity Max:30 was the first program that I fully stuck to. My nutrition wasn’t perfect because it was the holiday season and how do you resist homemade sugar cookies and my Mama’s oatmeal carmelitas, well you just don’t! This is the reason I wanted to do Max:30 again. I know that it’s a great program and I know that I didn’t do it the justice it deserved with the last round. So I figure now is the best time!
I’m going to give you a program breakdown and also do a daily check in to show my progress! I know that having someone to check in with will help me stay on track.
What is Insanity Max:30?
Max:30 is a high intensity, cardio, body weight, interval training workout. Don’t like the slow weight room process this is for you. Shaun T uses a mix of Cardio and Tabata to really kick your butt and MAXimize your results. The ultimate goal is to beat your own time. To push yourself a little bit harder and rest a little later than you did yesterday. Take a rest and keep going, no need to push pause.
Who is Insanity Max:30 for?
I personally think anyone can do this program. There is modifier option for EVERY workout. The only person you are fighting with is you. Some of the test group had amazing results with only doing the modifier, don’t think that modifying is for wimps!
Who is the Trainer??
Shaun T ❤ ❤ ❤ is amazing. (Check him out on Facebook.) Super intense but just the right amount of love and motivation to keep going. Shaun T is the creator of the original Insanity(one day I will finish that program) and also Hip Hop Abs, Rockin Body, Insanity Asylum, Focus T25, CIZE… Just all around a great trainer.
Max:30 has lots of jumping jacks… So empty your bladder before you push play! I know you mom’s out there know what I’m saying! Any how, if the jumping is a no go for you, the modifier always has a low impact option. ANYONE can do this program, pretty close at least. PS. Video’s music is VERY loud… Turn your speakers down 😉
The video above shows the regular move on the left and the modifier on the right.
The Meal Plan:
The meal plan with Max:30 is VERY similar to the 21 Day Fix. The challenge pack and base kit don’t come with the containers but portion measurements are super easy to find. The ultimate kit comes with the cups.
The Portion Control System: The same dishwasher-safe, BPA-free containers as the 21DF, they are color coded, whatever fits into the container from the specific food group it’s intended for is what you’re allowed to eat. Here’s the breakdown:
- One Green—Vegetables
- One Purple—Fruit
- One Red—Protein
- One Yellow—Carbohydrates
- One Blue—Healthy Fats and Cheese
- 2 Orange—Seeds and Oils
- Shakeology Shaker Cup— Shakeology cup, good for your shake and logging water intake.
I can’t even explain how pumped these results make me feel. These aren’t generated by scams, these are real people on my team! ❤

What Equipment You’ll Need for Insanity Max:30
Best part about this program, you only need yourself. Maybe a mat, a water bottle and a towel to soak up your sweat 😉 If you really want to push yourself you could try using a weighted vest.
If you are worried that you won’t be able to complete this program. DON’T BE! I’ve seen so many people push themselves past their comfort zones and really seen amazing results. Not only will you come out physically stronger, you will also be stronger mentally!
“I’m so glad that’s the last time I HAVE to do Max Out Sweat but that doesn’t mean it will be! 2 days left of Max:30 then it’s the very first workout to see how I progressed!” February 6, 2015

I’ve learned in the last year and a half that I do my best when I’m prepared. Some of the ways I do best with a program are 1) Having a workout calendar I can check off daily 2) Planning out my meals 3) Having a support network that will help keep me motivated to keep moving forward.
I thought I’d share the website I found to help with the calendar.
